As a corporate photographer in Dublin I get to meet and work with some amazing companies. When Max from multi award winning Aughey O’Flaherty Architects got in touch to see if I would be interested in helping them update their website with some new headshots I jumped at the chance. The brief was to really show the architects in their office environment but also capture the relaxed and personable characters of everyone. Give the feeling that they all work well together and are very much a team rather than just individual architects. To make the photographs look as natural as possible I decided to use just the natural office light. The photos were taken on a dark January morning so the natural light was not enough so I left the fluorescent lights on too for extra fill and highlight. This meant I got to work quickly with everyone, engaging them with the camera but also then getting them to look away from the camera to give the client more options for different styles of headshots. Shooting quite loose this also allows the client to crop in or out. Alternating between portrait and landscape. Max really wanted the photographs to be authentic and not look too styled or unrealistic. I am really looking forward to seeing how the new website turns out.
